My little sweetie, waking up to the sounds of ocean waves. What a little cuddle bug!

Ok, I'm traveling back in time here, a little behind on the posts, but wanted to get this in! We had a wonderful week celebrating the 4th of July with Stephen's parents in Water Sound, FL! It was our first road trip with the boys. What should have taken us about 6 hours ended up being an 8 hour trip getting there.....long story, but we learned that's it's easy to get distracted by the kids while driving, so we need to have our route planned out a head of time! And Iphones are not the best GPS systems! Also, Eli seemed to especially uncomfortable, only to find out a few days later that he had a double ear infection. (this event included a 3 hour trip to an Urgent Care facility) So, the trip was not without some interesting twists, but we are learning that that is just the status of our lives these days.
Adler completely exhausted himself at the beach, in the sand, and at the pool! He was taking some LONG naps and did pretty well in his very own room! Eli made a few appearances on the beach, complete with a few naps (thanks to Bonnie who provided the napping gear), but after lunch it was just too hot for him. We had an amazing condo, with a beautiful view of the ocean an pool. We had a gorgeous patio off of our master suite! I didn't mind getting up with the kiddos in the middle of the night because I could look at to the moon shining on the waves like they were scattered with diamonds and it was like a little gift from God for my lack of sleep. With all the napping by the boys, I got some great reading in, which I NEVER get to do! I finished two books : Shopaholic (totally brain candy) and The Glass Castle (a little more serious, but super good). Tom Tom and Grammi were great to give Stephen and I a date night out and we had a fun couple hours playing in down town Sea Side. We of course, ate wonderful meals every night by Chef Tom Tom.
I'll always have a special memory of this year's 4th of July.....Adler was begging to go back to the condo after only 2 minutes of fireworks. I noticed some other kids playing and as a desperate ploy I said, "why don't you go play with some kids?". He said, "ok" and walked up confident to these other kids and started playing. I'll always remember him saying "Hey guys, this way!!!" and "Wait for me!!!" (which sounds like "Wait da me!!") as they ran on the sand, glowing blue with moonlight! It was one of those kinds of moments that only happen to you as a child and you look back and wonder if it was really that magical or do you just remember things that way because you were small, and as a parent of the wide eyed-carefree child, the answer is, yes, it really was that magical!
We had a great time with Grammi and Tom Tom and created some lasting memories! Thanks for a great trip!
