NYC

Ok, I've been really struggling with getting these pictures posted, so I'm just going to post what I could get to load (I've tried 4 times) and move on with it!! Check out Stephen's flickr and blog for more pics.

Thanks to Neanie and Papa, we had a wonderful get-away/work weekend in NYC. Stephen had a wedding shoot and I went along as his assistant. We added a day to our trip so that we could play in the city together. My parents flew in from Houston to keep the boys, so I did not worry one second about being away for the first time from Eli that long! We flew in on a Thursday, rented a car and drove to our hotel in the city (that was crazy, but Stephen did awesome!) and got in around midnight. We decided to walk around Times Square because it's the City that Never Sleeps anyways...tons of people were out and about, street venders, etc., we stopped into a little Irish pub for a drink. The next day, we walked to Chelsea and the Meat Packing district from our hotel (which was about 1.5 miles). It took a little while, but we wanted to see the city and felt we could do more on foot than the subway. Stephen was in his photo shoot mode, so instead of arguing when we would ask me to pose in front of a door, etc., I totally hammed it up and played along. This first picture, I'm cracking up, because I would try to make these "model faces" but I had to make sound effects to get the point across and people walking by would look at me like ???? There are more "blue steel" pics, but like I said, I couldn't get those suckers to post. Anyways, we had a wonderful day walking, eating, playing, shopping, exploring, and then dinner at Bobby Flay's Bar American. Saturday, we drove up to Catskills State Park where the wedding was held and spent the day/ night shooting the wedding (which was actually pretty fun). I mostly enjoyed getting to meet the people and learn about their lives and how stay at home moms who live in the city make it work! We stayed in a cute bed and breakfast, chatted with the owners, and then had to head back to the airport for our flight home.

The boys were definitely well taken care of! Adler barely noticed when we arrived back, glancing up for a second from his play lawn mower. I know he had a great time playing with his Papa, Neanie and Aunt Rylie and Aunt Shelley (who also came to the house to spend the weekend with the boys). Eli was my little welcome home party and was very excited to see his mommy. His smile just melts my heart!

Time seems to be flying by and I can barely keep the blog updated! I'll keep trying on the pics!
