The Bachelor: London Calling

I put a poll up in the right hand corner, but I'm curious who everybody thinks Matt, "the most charming Bachelor ever" is going to propose to in "the most romantic love story in Bachelor history". Place your vote!

Old post I tried to make

I tried to make this post a while ago and something happened to the pictures I uploaded. So, I thought I would give it another try....Okay, so I know you are tired of pictures of the zoo (we go all the time thanks to Neanie and PaPa), but the community group girls got the kids together for a trip for Graycen's 3rd Birthday. Adler had so much fun having friends there with him. They were apparently way more fun than mommy. Caleb (5yrs) was a good "big brother" and looked after Adler any time he wanted to run away/stick his hand on the wheel of his wagon/dump out his juice/jump into the gorilla exhibit, etc.

Allergic Reaction

Oh, the fun just doesn't stop around here! Adler had an allergic reaction to the prescription for his ear infection...and broke out into this rash all over his body. We went back to the doctor's office Friday to confirm it was a reaction and to get a new prescription. It looks worse in the tub because the warm water makes the spots more red, but I thought they might show up better in the pictures. Anyways, he's been pretty cranky and not sleeping well. The past two nights I've laid on his floor from 3:50am to 5:20am with my hand stuck through his crib rubbing his back. Hope he sleeps better tonight, poor thing! We may need to go back tomorrow, depending on how his rash looks. Please say a prayer for the little man, he has been through a lot in a week!

Piedmont Park Conservancy

Adler and I stopped by the old office to say hi to my old co-workers. Adler liked wearing the hard hats the staff has to wear outside while a parking deck is being constructed next door...kind of funny. But anyways, we also played on the "everybody" playground which is designed so that handicapped kids can play too (no stairs and even a special swing)

Diagnosis

So we did in fact have an ear infection and another ruptured ear drum! Poor guy. He's had it rough with those ears in just the past month. We got our referral for an ENT and I made the appointment for our consultation for next Friday. We'll see what they say, but with two consecutive ruptured ear drums, I think he is a prime candidate!

Anyways, the rest of the day he got the royal treatment. Watched 101 Dalmations while eating popcorn and juice in the living room, then passed out on the couch for a little snooze....

ear infection #3

Adler woke up this morning with a fever and obvious ear pain. We were just there a week ago for a follow-up visit for a previous ear infection. The doctor's office opens at 8:30 and we will be there! I'm just hoping it's not too late, 3 weeks ago we had a burst ear drum. Stephen is recovering from a back injury too, so it's not much fun around here! Afraid tubes may be in our future!

Still annoyed....

OK, so I'm trying to get over this, but I'm still annoyed by an incident that happened at the zoo today. Adler and I were visiting the panda exhibit. Adler joined all the other kids, pressed against the glass, to see the baby panda. Next thing I know, there is a heavy tap on my shoulder...turn around for this man to say with an irritated tone, "Your child is blocking my son's view!". I turned around to see his kid was in a stroller and he was expecting all these kids in a crowded zoo exhibit to keep back so his poor kid, who was strapped into his stroller, could see. It was quite annoying because I mean, seriously, a) those are quite high expectations in a public park with kids everywhere and b) his tone was what irritated me the most like Adler was purposely keeping his kid from seeing the panda c) that he singled out Adler amongst all the kids...I mean, I know the boy is big for his age, but come on...

Later, I tried to tell myself, maybe his kid was handicapped and that's why he didn't take him out of the stroller like all the other kids or for his sensitivity on the subject. Then, I felt sorry for him. But then we ran into them later (Adler literally almost ran into them) by the Meer Cats, where the dad finally realized you have to take your kid out of the stroller if you expect them to see anything and the kid was running around, so there went that theory.

Anyways, maybe venting about it on my blog will help, but it just irritated me. I'm sure this kind of thing will happen again....and sometimes I'm the crazy one, so I guess I'll give the guy a break.

Just really cute pics

Adler has this new thing now that whenever he sees me taking a picture of him with the camera or my phone, he says, "Cheeeezzzee" - which then gives him the same 7 toothed smile in all of our latest pics. We've been going on picnics lately...just a fun way to get out of the house and enjoy this weather before it gets too hot....so, here are some pics from picnic at the park and the zoo today...

Work Crew Weekend at Young Life's Sharp Top Cove

Just got back from a weekend at Young Life's Sharp Top Cove in Jasper, Georgia. The camp is surrounded by the beautiful Georgia mountains. It was the most perfect weather you could imagine. I took some of the coolest high school girls up to serve as Work Crew for Family Camp. We had an awesome time together, lots of hard work, but it was completely worth it! Thanks girls for giving your weekend to serve Young Life!

Need Some New Make-Up?

A good friend of mine, Virginia, sent me an email about this. E.L.F makeup is being bought by Nordstrom, so they are having to repackage all of their products. So, you can buy almost everything on their site for only a dollar each. I just bought new make up brushes and a couple of other things...even if they are the wrong color...Oh well...it was only $1!

My dog ate a rotisserie chicken.....

Oh my goodness......
OK, so you may or may not know that through a tracking monitor I have on the blog, I can find out what people "google" to end up at my blog. Here's what brought someone to my blog today...

"My dog ate a rotisserie chicken, now he can't poop"

How in the world did that google search land that person onto my blog is beyond me. And what is up with someone letting their dog eat an entire rotisserie chicken..of course he can't poop..he's got chicken bones all lodged up in his system...good luck with that one!! Poor dog....

Dodge Ball Tourney

Our community group is participating in a fundraiser event, sponsored by Chick-Fil-A, to build a school in Niger. We (except me) will be playing in a dodge ball tournament this weekend. (I'm going up to Sharp Top Cove for YL) So, "Couch Huff" mowed out a close-to-official-size dodge ball court in their back yard and we had practice last week. The kids cheered on their daddys while eating hot dogs and chicken nuggets....Some of the more athletic moms will be playing (Christine Huff) while others will be providing orange slices and Hi-Cs. I'm sorry I will miss it!

Chuck E. Cheese

Adler's first trip to Chuck E. Cheese was this Monday. We went with Graycen (our God-daughter) to celebrate her 3rd birthday and her mom (Misty). It was great to go with a "big girl" to show Alder around the place. He wasn't too sure about all the rides, wanted to throw the ski-ball any other place than where it was supposed to go, but loved the singing robot mouse (I thought someone dressed up as a mouse at these places, but apparently I was wrong). He kept saying "hi mouse, bye mouse, hi mouse". I was very impressed with the child security when you walk in. Each family was stamped with coordinating numbers so no body left with the wrong person. There was an attendant at the door at all times and they were very serious about their job as "gate-keeper". I'm sure this is the beginning of many trips to visit The Mouse.

Adler and daddy doing the car racing video game...(these are my favorite...."prepare to qualify")

Graycen trying out the "so you think you can you dance?" game....

Graycen REALLY wanted "Uncle Boche" to go with her in the climby thing and go down the slide....

She is very convincing...

Adler kept waiting at the bottom for them to come out...
