Family Update:
I can't believe a week has already gone by since our trip home to Texas! It was our first flight with both the boys and they did great! Adler was entertained by his DVD player and a special "prize" he got on the plane for being such a good boy! Eli slept most the time and was just his happy self! Our 5 day trip was pretty jammed packed. I think we went to lunch and dinner almost every day/night. Stephen had two photo shoots while we were there, we celebrated Patrick's birthday, Father's Day for Tom Tom and Papa Bill, and my mom's birthday! We had a fun dinner out for Patrick and a birthday party at my parent's house for my mom. I felt so loved to have our old neighbors, the Donahues, come over to meet Eli and that the Tessenyi family came as well! I got to see KT and and the girls- they came up to The Woodlands to meet us at the fantastic pool at the country club. I felt like we were in Vegas (minus the sippy cups and swim diapers). It was great seeing everyone and showing off baby Eli! He is such a sweetie. I don't know if I've seen a baby as joyful as he is! We loved showing him off! Adler had fun playing with his Grammi and Tom Tom in their pool and going to the park with Neanie and PaPa, playing cars, bubbles, and learning how to use a water gun! We are now preparing for another trip...we are leaving Tuesday for Destin, FL to spend the 4th with Stephen's parents. It will be our first car trip with both the boys..and probably really only the second longest trip we have done with Adler. Needless to say....we need prayer! :)
Baby Elijah Beckett: EB is almost 5 months! Hard to believe! We had his 4 month appointment, but he was really 4.5 months. He weighed in at 16lbs and 14oz (80th %) and 25.25 inches in height (70th%). Dr. Beckford commented that he was just a "social butterfly" and "absolutely perfect". We love our pediatrician! Eli is rolling over both ways, playing with toys, can reach his feet and put his hands together, drooling plenty, and has a great laugh! He loves to be played with- especially tossed in the air a bit. He is such a joy and I love our cuddles. His favorite bed time song is Come Thou Fount (I finally committed it to heart so I can sing it without making up the words). He is sleeping to about 6:30ish and then will usually go back to sleep after I feed him until about 8.
Big boy Adler Ryan: is a silly, fun loving, goofy, imaginative, wild banchee of a 2.5 year old. His favorite latest words are "awe man!", "yummy-licious", and "tasty-good". We swam almost every day in Texas and ended up with an ear infection when we got home - not sure if it was swimming related or not, but it has put a damper on getting water near his ears - especially bath times have not been particularly fun. His latest thing is that he pretty much doesn't like to be at home. He'll tell me "we got to get ready....go to Caleb's house" or any house he can think of. He loves the Presley family and wants to leave with them any chance he can get...a few times we have done this for one reason or another. The other day, Bonnie and I had a "kiddo swap" day (I had her kids in the AM and she took mine after lunch), so Bonnie took Adler in her car. He was extremely happy and proud to get buckled up in her car, smiled and waved good bye to me....Bonnie said when he got her her house he said, "I love my Bonnie home!". He was sad when I came to get him and begged to go to Colby's house next. A little concerning, I guess, that home seems to be the last place he wants to be, but I guess that's my big social butterfly! His favorites are still Lightning McQueen and Thomas the Train and loves having imaginative conversations with his toys. The other day he told me that Lightning McQueen went poo poo on the potty and needed a sucker. It's really interesting to listen to him play out conversations with his toys that reflect things he is learning - like taking turns (he'll say "NO, McQueen! It's King's turn!) and not hitting (he'll say "Mommy, Chick Hicks hit McQueen and needs time out")
This summer is flying by, I can't believe it's already July! Hope everyone has a fun and safe 4th of July!
