"This is not a laughing matter" is a famous family quote. It dates back 20 years ago when a babysitter took care of me and my two younger sisters. She put all 3 of us in the tub together and SOMEBODY "dropped the kids off at the pool". Of course, Rylie and I knew who it was but the 2 yr old would not own up to it. The babysitter demanded to know who "did it". Rylie and I could only laugh while Shelley denied having any part in the floating evidence. For some reason this babysitter got angrier and angrier (probably because she was 17 and had plans to talk to her boyfriend after she put us to bed and cleaning up poop was not only not her idea of a Friday night, but was going to cause her to miss an episode of TGIF and delay her opportunity to talk to her parachute pants boyfriend) Anyways, after her demands of a confession were not met, she yelled to me and Rylie, "THIS IS NOT A LAUGHING MATTER!". Of course this only made us laugh more. Even a 4 and 7 year old knew a comment like this was ridiculous!
Tonight this incident came back to haunt me, tenfold. Adler and I were having a blast playing with his new basketball hoop (thanks KT and Adam!) when I realized the object floating behind Adler was not a basketball. To Adler's screaming disappointment, I quickly pulled him out of the tub. I laid him down in the living room to put on his diaper. Remembering I needed some Desitin, I had to get up again - giving Adler an opportunity to escape naked into the kitchen. I was digging through a kitchen drawer for the ointment when I heard what sounded like fireworks coming from Adler's bottom. As soon as I picked him up, I noticed he left a Hershey Kiss like poop on my wood floor. PERFECT! But before I could do anything about it...Sadie, the black sheep-dog-mix, came to my rescue and ate the ENTIRE THING IN ONE LICK! It was complete disaster for like 30 minutes straight at the Hunton house. Stephen is at Young Life tonight, so I experienced this all by my lonesome. Anyways, just wanted to share what a night a the Hunton house can be like! JEALOUS???
