An Ode to Stephen Hunton

For Stephen's 31st Birthday celebration, I wrote this poem as a toast for a small gathering with close friends:

For the Hunton family, the past year has meant new means,
V-neck shirts, high top shoes and skinny jeans.
You were the new photographer in town breaking all the rules,
At first Baptist of Mableton, you were the new dad in carpool.
Blogs, a website, twitter and facebook,
If we needed to fine you, we knew where to look.
A self proclaimed "hustler" with a sweet new watch,
Providing for your new family of four was your top notch.
Yet through it all, your faith remained,
And with His mercy and grace, we were sustained.
A leadership we here can all attest,
A determination and drive without rest.
So now on this day, of your 31st year,
With our best friends gathered 'round whom we hold so dear.
I propose a toast,
To the man I love most.
For better or worse, richer or poorer,
You, my love, will always be the one I adore!

Happy Birthday, Boo!
