Our Beckett Boy is One!

Our Elijah Beckett is One! It's hard to believe we were at the hospital with our little man a year ago! He has been such a joy and delight to our family. Always a sunshiney happy boy.

At one year old, Beckett has four teeth, and two more on the bottom that have just peeked through. He said "ball" for the first time on two days ago! His other words are Mama, Dada, Adler (Aaaa-da), and Sadie (Dadie), Glasses, "Uh-oh", Bye-Bye, Night-Night, to name a few. He's great at copying words to it's hard to say which ones he really knows and which ones he just repeats. He's a really great little communicator - avid pointer, it's like he speaks his little language and I know exactly what he's saying.

Some of his tricks include: waving Bye-Bye, touch-down, can answer "1" and give a number 1 when asked how old he is, blowing kisses, hugs, wet kisses, bonking his head on something-making a noise and thinking it's funny and repeating it, pointing at people in pictures on our refrigerator (so far, he can identify mama, dada, Adler, and papa)

He is a wonderful little eater! The ladies at his Mother's Morning Out program agreed on his first day. We often wonder where he puts it all! His favorite foods are sweet potatoes, blue berries, waffles, bananas, avacado, fruit cups, grits, and he LOVED the mashed calliflower Grammi and Tom Tom made for him!

He has a funny sense of humor, loves to be silly - especially when it comes to music & dance parties. He's loves wearing hats and sunglasses. (maybe because big brother wears the glasses too) His favorite book is our pop-up Bunny's Nursery Rhymes book. His favorite bedtime lovey is "Blue Beary" - a blue bear with a blanket attached.

He's really easy going, a breeze to put down for naps and bedtime - I always know he will do great for my friends or sitters when they keep him for me.

He loves playing with Adler, following him using his walker, then getting frustrated he's not able to keep up, will go back to his speed crawling.

Adler and Beckett are great friends. They love to play hide-n-seek and peek-a-boo underneath Beckett's crib. I don't think Beckett has ever played with baby toys - he just wants to play with the cars and trains Adler plays with.

Adler has his own names of affection for Beckett. "Beckett Boy", "Honey Beckett" "Beckett Sweetie" and "Beckett Stinker"

He's really fun and easy to take out and about - smiles at everyone - and they all always comment on what a great and sweet smile he has. Some would say he is the ideal baby - other's would say "if I knew I was going to have a baby like Beckett..." I'd have 5 more!

Beckett Boy, we love you so much! Your fun, loving spirit fill our home with so much joy. Our lives were definitely empty without you! We are so blessed God chose us to be your parents, to love, care for you, pray for you, and encourage you in life. It is an honor to be your mommy!

Zephaniah 3:17 says "He will rejoice over you with singing". With both Adler and Beckett, we have chosen a special song to sing to them. From the day we bring them home, we sing this song at every nap time and every bedtime. Our song for Beckett is "Come Thou Fount". Only our Heavenly Father could be the Fount of such a precious gift of Elijah Beckett. He created him fearfully and wonderfully! Beckett, we can't wait to see all God has for you!

Honored to be prayerfully shepherding your heart,
Love Mommy and Daddy

1, Come, thou Fount of every blessing, tune my heart to sing thy grace; streams of mercy, never ceasing, call for songs of loudest praise. Teach me some melodious sonnet, sung by flaming tongues above. Praise the mount! I'm fixed upon it, mount of thy redeeming love. 2. Here I raise mine Ebenezer; hither by thy help I'm come; and I hope, by thy good pleasure, safely to arrive at home. Jesus sought me when a stranger, wandering from the fold of God; he, to rescue me from danger, interposed his precious blood. 3. O to grace how great a debtor daily I'm constrained to be! Let thy goodness, like a fetter, bind my wandering heart to thee. Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, prone to leave the God I love; here's my heart, O take and seal it, seal it for thy courts above.
